| Brigadeiros - the Brazilian sweet treat |
This brings us on to a Brazilian comfort food, present at every children's party across the land, loved by the nation and named after one of Brazil's first pilots, Brigadeiro. To quote my friend, "If there is one thing all Brazilians eat it is this."
But eating is believing and when I found find our Brazilian Beauty with spoon in mouth in blissful silence I had to try it for myself. I had a spoonful, the silence hit me, my eyes sparkled and the BB laughed, "it's good, no?"
So we set to work making a batch, recording it for posterity and so that we could share Brazilians favourite sweet treat.

Add 2 big spoons of chocolate powder and a spoonful of butter. Mix together before heating. "Some people put an egg in with it, but it tastes horrible."
Keep stirring on a medium heat. The secret is to never stop stirring. Keep stirring in the same direction.

Once the mixture has cooled take a small handful and roll into a ball. Cover the Brigadeiros with whatever appeals, for instance crushed nuts, cocoa powder, icing sugar and place in little cup cake cases.
